Parador De Tortosa

The views from the hotel were spectacular and the rooms comfortable.

The pool was not filled, nothing on website about this. Thin walls so quite noisy.

Good service from most of the staff. An excellent dinner in the restaurant, cheerful helpful staff. Excellent location - but not easy to find in the dark.

Two members of staff were miserable and disinterested.

Staff not very friendly. Lobby smelled. As we arrived at room, maid was spraying bug spray. Halls were dark and musty. Castle was nice, but otherwise a huge dissapointment.

I have always wanted to stay in a Parador, this was everything that I wanted. The pure history of the place was amazing. Our room with its views over Tortosa, and the lovely balcony was really beautiful. Without any doubt I would return to this Parador. Superb swimming pool, everything we wanted in our room. Breakfast was excellent, again amazing views, and in the evening for dinner, the most wonderful dining room, with absolutely superb food, this meal really did finish the day off!

Magnificent castle, decorated with great character in the old castle style. Situation and views breathtakingly beautiful. Room lovely. A really beautiful experience to stay in such a wonderful place. Romantic. Peaceful. Relaxing.

Restaurant inflexible in terms of choice and times of opening, which is a pity as there is nothing else nearby, you are up the hill in the castle. Menu seemed boring the second night. And small snacks (E.G. sandwiches) are extremely expensive and uninteresting. Restaurant and eating facilities would be a minus if you wanted to spend more than a night or two there. Air conditioning did not work properly. No signposts for Parador Hotel in the town of Torbosa which made arrival difficult. A very kind woman from the town offered to drive ahead of us to show us the way. Staff lacked warmth which was such a pity, no "Goodbye", no "Thank you", no "Have a safe journey onwards", nothing. That was a pity. Because it was a lovely stay there in spite of the above few things.

The food in the Hotel was a great selection of Spanish food.

Hotel could have a little updating. Some repainting and maybe new beds. They are begining to feel old.

We found the location terrific--wonderful views, lovely restored fortress. The rooms were very pleasant and well-equipped, with thoughtful extras.

We ate there, and found their "typical Tortosa specialties" rather characterless and we felt that we could have done better in this department elsewhere. The staff was also rather patronizing. The paradors were the last word in touristic luxury 450 years ago. In the light of Eurotourism and greater globalization, they are somewhat behind the times.

Beautiful parador. Rooms have a large balcony. Nice pool.

The town below the parador has to be the ugliest run down place ive ever seen. Michelin gives the town 2 stars, I would give it none.

Can just recommend for an overnight stopping

Beautiful hotel, amazing view, very friendly and cute staff at reception who made check-in easy and provided excellent breakfast options.

The cold rooms and inadequate heating were quite uncomfortable!!! Poor water quality. The lack of maintenance gave a sense of neglect in various areas!!!
